At Root Academy, we are committed to providing high-quality educational content and a smooth learning experience. This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains your rights and our terms regarding cancellations, refunds, and course withdrawals.

This policy applies to all courses and services offered by Root Academy, including physical in-person classes, online courses, live webinars, and premium memberships.

1. General Refund Policy

1.1 Refund Eligibility

Refund eligibility depends on the type of course, timing of the cancellation request, and the extent of course access or completion. We assess each refund request on a case-by-case basis in accordance with this policy.

1.2 Non-Refundable Items

The following are generally non-refundable:

  • Registration or enrollment fees (if applicable)
  • Downloaded study materials, PDFs, or resources
  • Accessed digital course content (videos watched, modules completed)
  • Physical study materials that have been shipped or delivered
  • Completed or expired courses
  • Services already rendered
  • Premium membership fees (unless otherwise specified)

1.3 Refund Method

Approved refunds will be processed to the original payment method within 7–14 business days from approval. Depending on your bank or payment provider, it may take additional time for the refund to reflect in your account.

2. Refund Policy for Physical In-Person Classes

2.1 Cancellation Before Course Start

If you cancel your enrollment before the course commencement date:

  • 7+ days before start: 100% refund of course fees (minus any non-refundable registration fees, if applicable)
  • 3–6 days before start: 75% refund of course fees
  • 1–2 days before start: 50% refund of course fees
  • On start date or after: No refund

2.2 Cancellation After Course Start

Once the course has commenced:

  • Within first 7 days and less than 20% classes attended: 50% refund
  • After 7 days or more than 20% classes attended: No refund
  • Attendance is calculated based on total scheduled classes

2.3 Medical or Emergency Withdrawal

In cases of genuine medical emergencies or unforeseen circumstances:

  • Provide documented proof (medical certificate or emergency documentation)
  • We may offer a partial refund, course credit, or transfer to a future batch at our discretion
  • Requests must be submitted within 7 days of the incident

2.4 Course Rescheduling by Student

If you wish to transfer to a different batch or reschedule:

  • Requests must be made at least 3 days before course start
  • Transfer to another batch is subject to seat availability
  • One-time free transfer is allowed; subsequent transfers may incur a rescheduling fee
3. Refund Policy for Online Pre-Recorded Courses

3.1 Before Accessing Course Content

If you request a refund before accessing any course content (no videos watched, no materials downloaded):

  • Within 7 days of purchase: 100% refund
  • After 7 days of purchase: No refund

3.2 After Accessing Course Content

Once you have accessed any part of the course (watched videos, downloaded materials, completed modules):

  • Less than 20% of the course accessed within 7 days of purchase: 50% refund (at our discretion)
  • More than 20% of the course accessed: No refund
  • After 7 days from purchase: No refund regardless of access

3.3 Technical Issues

If you experience technical issues preventing course access:

  • Contact us immediately at business@dzinepixel.com with detailed information
  • We will investigate and resolve technical issues on our end
  • Refunds are considered only if we cannot resolve the technical problem within a reasonable timeframe
  • Technical issues caused by your device, internet connection, or incompatible software are not grounds for a refund

3.4 Dissatisfaction with Course Content

We strive to provide accurate course descriptions and previews. Refunds based on subjective dissatisfaction are generally not granted once content has been accessed. We encourage you to:

  • Review course details, syllabus, and previews before purchasing
  • Contact us with any questions before enrollment
4. Refund Policy for Live Webinars and Online Classes

4.1 Cancellation Before Webinar Start

If you cancel before the scheduled webinar/class date:

  • 3+ days before start: 100% refund (excluding non-refundable fees, if applicable)
  • 1–2 days before start: 50% refund
  • On the webinar day or after it starts: No refund

4.2 Missed Webinars

If you miss a scheduled live webinar due to personal reasons:

  • No refund will be provided
  • Recordings may be made available at our discretion (not guaranteed)

4.3 Technical Issues During Live Sessions

If technical problems occur during live webinars due to platform failures or Root Academy's technical issues:

  • The session will be rescheduled or access to recordings will be provided
  • Refunds will be considered only if a suitable alternative cannot be provided

4.4 Series of Live Classes

For courses consisting of multiple live sessions:

  • Cancellation policy is based on the percentage of sessions attended (similar to physical classes)
  • Once more than 20% of sessions are completed, no refund will be available
5. Refund Policy for Hybrid Courses

For courses combining physical classes and online components:

  • Refund eligibility is assessed based on the primary delivery method and extent of participation
  • If both components have been accessed, no refund will be provided
  • Partial refunds may be considered if only one component has been accessed, at our discretion
6. EMI Payment and Refunds

6.1 Refunds on EMI Payments

If you enrolled using an EMI payment plan:

  • Refund eligibility follows the same criteria as lump-sum payments
  • Approved refunds will be calculated based on the total course fee minus installments already paid
  • You remain responsible for any pending EMI installments until officially withdrawn
  • We will coordinate with payment providers to stop future installments upon withdrawal confirmation

6.2 Default on EMI Payments

If you default on EMI payments:

  • Course access (physical or online) will be suspended until payment is cleared
  • No refund will be provided for the period of suspension
  • Outstanding amounts remain payable
7. Premium Membership Refunds

7.1 Premium Membership Cancellation

Premium membership fees are generally non-refundable once benefits have been activated or used.

7.2 Before Using Premium Benefits

If you cancel premium membership before using any benefits (no downloads, no exclusive content accessed):

  • Within 7 days of purchase: Full refund
  • After 7 days: No refund

7.3 After Using Premium Benefits

Once you have used any premium benefits (downloaded videos, accessed exclusive content):

  • No refund will be provided
8. Course Cancellation by Root Academy

8.1 Course Cancellation or Rescheduling

If Root Academy cancels or significantly reschedules a course due to:

  • Insufficient enrollment
  • Instructor unavailability
  • Facility issues
  • Force majeure events (natural disasters, pandemics, government restrictions)

You will be offered:

  • Full refund of all paid fees, OR
  • Transfer to another batch or course of equivalent value, OR
  • Course credit for future use

8.2 Significant Changes to Course Content

If we make substantial changes to course content, duration, or delivery format after your enrollment:

  • We will notify you in advance
  • You may request a full refund if the changes materially affect the course value or your ability to participate
9. Refund Request Process

To request a refund, follow these steps:

Step 1: Submit Request

  • Your full name
  • Enrolled course name
  • Enrollment/order ID or transaction reference
  • Date of enrollment and payment
  • Reason for refund request
  • Supporting documentation (if applicable, such as medical certificates or emergency proof)

Step 2: Review Process

  • We will review your request within 5–7 business days
  • We may contact you for additional information or clarification
  • Approval or denial will be communicated via email

Step 3: Refund Processing

If approved:

  • Refunds will be processed within 7–14 business days
  • Refund will be credited to your original payment method
  • You will receive confirmation once the refund is processed
  • Bank processing times may vary

Step 4: Access Revocation

Upon refund approval:

  • Your access to course content (physical classes or online platforms) will be immediately revoked
  • You must delete any downloaded materials
  • You may not retain or use course content after receiving a refund
10. Non-Refundable Circumstances

Refund requests may be denied in the following situations:

  • Violation of Root Academy's Terms and Conditions
  • Misconduct, harassment, or policy violations leading to expulsion
  • Failure to meet course prerequisites or eligibility requirements (as disclosed at enrollment)
  • Subjective dissatisfaction with course quality after accessing content
  • Completion of more than 20% of the course (physical or online)
  • Requests made after applicable refund windows have expired
  • Fraudulent activity, abuse of the refund policy, or providing false information
  • Technical issues caused by personal devices, internet connection, or incompatible software
  • Courses accessed through promotional offers, scholarships, or discounted rates (unless otherwise specified)
11. Abuse of Refund Policy

Root Academy reserves the right to limit or deny refund requests in cases of suspected abuse, fraud, or violation of our policies.

Examples of Abuse Include:

  • Enrolling with the intent to request a refund after accessing content
  • Downloading or copying course materials before requesting a refund
  • Repeated patterns of enrollments and refund requests across multiple courses
  • Sharing account access or course content with others
  • Providing false information or fraudulent documentation
  • Abusive behavior toward staff or instructors to pressure refunds

Consequences:

  • Refund request denial
  • Account suspension or termination
  • Ban from future enrollments
  • Legal action for fraud or copyright infringement
12. Partial Refunds and Course Credits

In certain exceptional circumstances, we may offer:

12.1 Partial Refunds

  • Calculated proportionally based on course completion percentage
  • Offered at our discretion for valid reasons

12.2 Course Credits

  • Valid for enrollment in any Root Academy course within 12 months
  • Non-transferable and non-refundable
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash
13. Chargebacks and Payment Disputes

If you have a payment dispute or issue, please contact us directly at business@dzinepixel.com before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider.

13.2 Chargeback Consequences

Unauthorized chargebacks or payment reversals may result in:

  • Immediate suspension of course access
  • Account termination
  • Ban from future enrollments
  • Legal action to recover amounts owed, including associated costs

13.3 Legitimate Chargebacks

If you believe a charge was unauthorized or fraudulent:

  • Contact us immediately
  • We will investigate and resolve the issue
  • Legitimate disputes will be handled appropriately
14. Force Majeure and Unforeseen Circumstances

In the event of circumstances beyond our control (natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, technical failures):

  • Root Academy may reschedule, postpone, or cancel courses
  • Students will be offered refunds, course credits, or rescheduling options
  • We are not liable for consequential damages, travel expenses, or other indirect costs
15. Changes to This Policy

Root Academy reserves the right to modify this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting with an updated "Last Updated" date.

For students already enrolled:

  • The policy in effect at the time of your enrollment will generally apply
  • Significant policy changes will be communicated via email
